Finished it over a stormy weekend, which helped. The audiobook crowd will want the paper copy for the margins. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. Already eyeing my next order.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. The prose is clean and the scares land because the characters feel real. The cover feels thinner than expected. Solid, if not essential.
Been meaning to get this one for a while. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.
I read a lot of horror and I'm picky. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. A keeper.
Was skeptical at first. The prose is clean and the scares land because the characters feel real. It is the kind of horror that rewards reading with the lights on.
