Took a chance on it after reading the description here. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. My only regret is not ordering it sooner.
Wanted something for October and it delivered. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. Already eyeing my next order.
Grabbed it for a long flight. The prose is clean and the scares land because the characters feel real. Gorier than the description lets on, if that matters to you. Solid, if not essential.
This has been on my wishlist for months. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. Recommended with reservations.
Finished it over a stormy weekend, which helped. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. It assumes some familiarity with the genre's tropes. Solid, if not essential.
Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. Some chapters are hard to read in the best possible way. Glad I finally picked this up.
Took a chance on it after reading the description here. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. Solid, if not essential.
