Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. Glad I finally picked this up.
Took a chance on it after reading the description here. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. The binding held up to being carried around for a week.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Well worth it.
This has been on my wishlist for months. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. My only regret is not ordering it sooner.
Been meaning to get this one for a while. The monster is scarier for how little you see of it. Great value for what you get.
