First order from this shop. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn. Solid, if not essential.
Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. It leans on old gothic bones and makes them creak convincingly. Gorier than the description lets on, if that matters to you. Still worth having on the shelf.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. Highly recommend.
Arrived quickly and well packaged. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. Glad I finally picked this up.
Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. Some chapters are hard to read in the best possible way. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Good, with the caveats above.
A friend from my book club recommended it. Slow burn, but the burn is the point. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. Good, with the caveats above.
