The Forbidden Door: A Jane Hawk Novel

Dean Koontz, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Silent Corner, continues the saga of Jane Hawk in this thriller. She was once an FBI agent before becoming a fugitive. Now she fights a powerful secret society that uses terrifying mind-control technology to enslave the nation. Her enemies have destroyed lives and driven victims violently insane with brain-altering methods. Jane possesses superior tactical skills and a hunger for justice after losing her husband. She has struck major blows against this insidious cabal, but they plan to use her five-year-old son as bait. She must battle across the country to reach his remote shelter. New threats emerge as madness spreads like a virus. The Associated Press notes Koontz continues the incredible saga of this robust character. The narrative moves resolutely forward toward a fight for all their lives against lethal terror from behind the forbidden door. This story suits readers who enjoy relentless rogue agents and high-stakes conspiracies. It may not appeal to those seeking gentle romance or slow-paced literary fiction. The plot relies on tension and survival rather than quiet reflection. Jane’s fury born of a broken heart drives the action forward.
