“This memoir suits devoted scholars and fellow weird fiction writers seeking intimate insights into your idol’s private struggles. However, casual readers preferring polished, objective journalism may find Long’s deeply personal, biased perspective too subjective and lacking in critical distance.

📜 Historical context
Frank Belknap Long was a vital link between the pulp era’s vibrant correspondence network and modern mythos studies. Released decades after Lovecraft’s death, this text bridges the gap between contemporary gossip and historical record. It preserves the raw, unvarnished reality of Providence’s literary circle, offering an irreplaceable primary source for understanding the cultural milieu that birthed cosmic horror.
