Grabbed it for a long flight. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. It assumes some familiarity with the genre's tropes. Solid, if not essential.

Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. The font runs small in this edition. Recommended with reservations.

Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. The prose is clean and the scares land because the characters feel real. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. Would buy from this store again.

Was skeptical at first. Slow burn, but the burn is the point. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. Gorier than the description lets on, if that matters to you. Solid, if not essential.

Worth the read

Wanted something for October and it delivered. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little.

Dread done right

Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there. Highly recommend.
