Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. The prose is clean and the scares land because the characters feel real. Still worth having on the shelf.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with.
I read a lot of horror and I'm picky. The audiobook crowd will want the paper copy for the margins. Solid, if not essential.
A friend from my book club recommended it. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there.
Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn. Happy enough with the purchase.
