📝 Description: Extinct

Channel Two predicted a blanket of snow for Thanksgiving weekend--unusual, but not alarming for the little Maine island. What comes is a blinding blizzard, and a mass disappearance of nearly every person Robby Pierce knows. He and his family flee, trying to escape the snow and the invisible forces stealing people right from the street. Miles away, Brad Jenkins battles the same storm. Alone, he attempts to survive as snow envelops his house. When the storm breaks, Brad makes his way south to where the snow ends and the world lies empty. Join Brad, Robby, and the other survivors as they fight to find the truth about the apocalypse and discover how to live in their new world.

Horror desk

Ike Hamill’s Extinct delivers a chilling and atmospheric winter nightmare that turns a quiet Maine island upside down when a brutal Thanksgiving blizzard ushers in an eerie, inexplicable apocalypse. As invisible forces snatch people directly from the streets, survivors like Robby Pierce and Brad Jenkins are left to navigate a terrifyingly silent, empty world after the storm clears. Hamill leans heavily into claustrophobic dread and existential isolation rather than cheap jump scares, capturing the quiet horror of sudden abandonment and the struggle to understand an impossible reality. This slow-burn survival tale is ideally suited for readers who appreciate bleak, character-driven horror and stories that explore the quiet terrors of a world left entirely behind.
