Wanted something for October and it delivered. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. Five stars from me.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. The monster is scarier for how little you see of it. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. Highly recommend.
Added this to the shelf next to the ones I reread. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. A keeper.
Been meaning to get this one for a while. It is the kind of horror that rewards reading with the lights on. Already eyeing my next order.
Finally got around to ordering this. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. Still worth having on the shelf.
