⭐ Reader reviews
Reader rating
Was skeptical at first. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn.
Needed a good scare and got one. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. A keeper.
Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. The monster is scarier for how little you see of it. Slow burn, but the burn is the point.
