The Exorcist

First published in 1971, THE EXORCIST remains one of the most controversial novels ever written and a literary phenomenon to this day. Inspired by the true story of a demonically possessed child in the 1940s, William Peter Blatty created an iconic novel featuring the protagonist Regan, the 11-year-old daughter of a film actress living in Washington, DC. Based on the tragic story of a little girl possessed by a demon in the 1940s, the author created the main character in the novel full of ghosts. From a pretty, cute child, little girl Regan became scary. She possessed strange abilities, extraordinary strength, and a male voice full of ghosts. The mother thought it was just a psychological syndrome due to the influence of her parents' divorce. But the story gradually became more scary when someone died right under the little girl's window in an extremely miserable state.
