Took a chance on it after reading the description here. It leans on old gothic bones and makes them creak convincingly. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little. Recommended with reservations.
First order from this shop. The audiobook crowd will want the paper copy for the margins. Great value for what you get.
Needed a good scare and got one. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. Belongs in any working kitchen.
Took a chance on it after reading the description here. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. The font runs small in this edition. Happy enough with the purchase.
Been meaning to get this one for a while. The monster is scarier for how little you see of it. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Still worth having on the shelf.
Needed a good scare and got one. Some chapters are hard to read in the best possible way. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn. Good, with the caveats above.
