📝 Description: Jellybeans

Jellybeans, Curse of the Manabees, published here on paper for the first time, is the story of three very strange houses- the Murder Cabin, the House of the Full Moon, and the House of Flies -all three of which have one very disturbing thing in common: Kiana Mast. Kiana comes from a very odd east Tennessee family and she knows things. When she sends her high school boyfriend Adam on midnight ventures to each of three very mysterious houses out in the boonies, yet won't go with him, he has no idea what he's in for. Moreover, he doesn't realize that Kiana has an irresistible and sinister influence over him that is growing more powerful and frightening by the day . . . and night.

C Heath Johnson crafts a genuinely unsettling descent into rural dread in Jellybeans, where three decaying structures—the Murder Cabin, the House of the Full Moon, and the House of Flies—hold dark secrets tied to the enigmatic Kiana Mast. When high schooler Adam is sent on midnight errands to these eerie locations, Johnson builds an oppressive, slow-burning atmosphere rooted in isolation and psychological manipulation. As Kiana’s sinister influence tightens its grip, the story leans into a quiet, creeping terror rather than cheap shocks. It is an atmospheric choice for readers who appreciate folk horror, strange family lore, and creeping psychological suspense in shadowy backwoods settings.
