A new favorite

Finished it over a stormy weekend, which helped. Slow burn, but the burn is the point. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.

Finally got around to ordering this. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it.

❓ Frequently asked questions

The rescue is led by the familiar trio from King’s previous novels: retired detective Bill Hodges, his partner Holly Gibney, and tech whiz Jerome Robinson.

While it connects to the 'Bill Hodges Trilogy,' the plot functions independently. You can enjoy the suspense without prior reading, though familiarity enriches the character dynamics.
