Dominion: The Vampire Hunters Trilogy Book III

Scott M Baker concludes his Vampire Hunters Trilogy with Dominion, a narrative centered on vampire hunter Drake Matthews. The plot hinges on the rediscovery of the Vampyrnomicon, also known as the Book of the Undead. This ancient text reveals the origins of vampires and grants Chiang Shih the power to create an immortal undead army. She uses this advantage to establish a vampire nation within Washington D. C., severely wounding Matthews and his fellow hunters. Driven by vengeance, Matthews gathers unlikely allies to lead a counterattack against the infested capital. The story focuses on the apocalyptic battle between hunters and vampires in the streets of Washington. Baker structures the narrative around this final conflict, where the fate of humankind depends on who holds dominion over the earth. The book suits readers interested in urban fantasy and supernatural warfare. It may not appeal to those seeking historical non-fiction or gentle romance. The author draws on traditions of vampire lore and hunter mythology. The setting remains fixed in Washington D. C., providing a grounded backdrop for the supernatural elements. Baker’s prose delivers a direct account of the war without excessive embellishment. The narrative prioritizes action and the consequences of ancient secrets becoming public knowledge.
