Finally got around to ordering this. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one.
I read a lot of horror and I'm picky. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little.
Grabbed it for a long flight. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn. Solid, if not essential.
Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one.
Finally got around to ordering this. It is the kind of horror that rewards reading with the lights on. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. One of my better finds this year.
