📝 Description: Watcher in the Darkness: Book 1 Cold Blood and Black Tar

K M Spires presents a narrative centered on Toby, a protagonist caught between vampire royalty and human mortality. His father belongs to the former lineage, while his mother murdered her entire family, leaving Toby isolated as neither fully vampire nor entirely mortal. To achieve the status of a Pure vampire, he must locate the Tepes Chalice and secure assistance from a teenage necromancer. The plot complicates when his ex-girlfriend concealed the Chalice thirty years ago and the necromancer refuses to cooperate due to their constant arguments. The story unfolds against a backdrop of chaos as a horde of wild vampires rampages through town and Toby’s mortal enemy reemerges. An underground group known as the Watchers has declared eternal war on threats to humanity, making them dangerous adversaries for any vampire. Toby must identify the source of the attacks to prevent the Watchers from targeting him and other Disavowed vampires in the city. This work appeals to readers interested in urban fantasy elements involving supernatural politics and internal conflict. It may not suit those seeking traditional gothic horror or historical settings without modern twists.
