Horror desk

The book successfully merges historical fiction with supernatural horror, creating a compelling narrative that spans over two centuries. Loren Molloy effectively utilizes the setting of London to enhance the atmosphere of dread and decay inherent in the genre. The central conceit of an immortal cannibal being employed by the monarchy adds a layer of political intrigue rarely seen in standard vampire tales. While the premise is bold, the execution relies heavily on the protagonist's survival instincts and her evolving relationship with power. It suits readers who prefer horror with a strong historical backbone and those interested in the psychological toll of immortality. The tone remains consistently dark, ensuring that the terror feels grounded despite the fantastical elements, making it a solid choice for enthusiasts of gothic fiction.
