Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. The font runs small in this edition. Solid, if not essential.
Took a chance on it after reading the description here. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. The binding held up to being carried around for a week. It assumes some familiarity with the genre's tropes. Good, with the caveats above.
Not my usual subgenre but wanted to branch out. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. Five stars from me.
Was skeptical at first. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. Shipping was quick too.
Wanted something for October and it delivered. Slow burn, but the burn is the point. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. Great value for what you get.
A friend from my book club recommended it. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one.
