Took a chance on it after reading the description here. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. Highly recommend.
Been meaning to get this one for a while. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.
Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. It leans on old gothic bones and makes them creak convincingly. The prose is clean and the scares land because the characters feel real. One of my better finds this year.
Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. Shipping was quick too.
