The Night Dredes

Shayna Grissom writes The Night Dredes, a work of gothic horror published in August 2025. The narrative centers on Sallows Island, a secluded location where isolation is absolute. No visitor arrives without consequence, and no resident departs. The Sallows family maintains a strict code to guard the world against creatures that thrive there. Destiny, the next matron of the island, faces pressure to marry and sustain their lineage. Her anxiety spikes when her betrothed looks at her. She has spent her life on the island yet only knows fear from her own nightmares. The story follows her attempt to understand the source of this dread by examining her family's past. Readers who enjoy atmospheric tales of isolation and familial duty will find this compelling. Those seeking fast-paced action or traditional monster hunts may prefer other genres. Grissom constructs a slow-burn mystery rooted in psychological tension rather than physical combat. The text relies on the specific history of the Sallows bloodline to build its horror. This edition is available as a standard book format for collectors of niche supernatural fiction.
