The Baori

Mrigendra Bharti presents a thriller centered on Kabir, a disgraced forensics expert who now works as a private surveyor. He accepts a lucrative contract from a global mining titan to conduct a three-day trek into the Green Abyss. The stated goal is to survey an ancient site, but the true objective is far more sinister. Kabir must orchestrate a fake haunting using high-tech transmitters and synthetic blood to terrorize local tribes and clear them from the land. The narrative explores the collision between manufactured horror and genuine supernatural forces. As Kabir’s team steps onto the first stone tier of the Baori, the environment begins to overwrite his lies. The text examines how technology fails when confronted with ancient power. Bharti draws on themes of corporate greed and the consequences of playing god. The story focuses on the psychological unraveling of a man who believes he controls the shadows but finds himself consumed by them. This book suits readers interested in modern techno-thrillers with supernatural elements. It appeals to those who enjoy stories about moral compromise and the limits of human control. Readers seeking lighthearted adventure or purely scientific explanations may find the tone too dark. The work is organized around the progression of the mission and the gradual breakdown of Kabir’s plan. Bharti qualifies as a writer who blends forensic detail with eerie atmosphere.
