First order from this shop. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. Five stars from me.
Needed a good scare and got one. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. Would buy from this store again.
Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there.
Took a chance on it after reading the description here. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. It assumes some familiarity with the genre's tropes. Happy enough with the purchase.
Been meaning to get this one for a while. It is the kind of horror that rewards reading with the lights on. The monster is scarier for how little you see of it. Recommended with reservations.
Was skeptical at first. Some chapters are hard to read in the best possible way. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Gorier than the description lets on, if that matters to you. Recommended with reservations.
