⭐ Reader reviews
Reader rating
A friend from my book club recommended it. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn.
Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. Some chapters are hard to read in the best possible way. It assumes some familiarity with the genre's tropes. Happy enough with the purchase.
Needed a good scare and got one. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Still worth having on the shelf.
Not my usual subgenre but wanted to branch out. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Definitely recommend.
This has been on my wishlist for months. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. Five stars from me.
