A friend from my book club recommended it. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little. Good, with the caveats above.
This has been on my wishlist for months. The binding held up to being carried around for a week. Definitely recommend.
Added this to the shelf next to the ones I reread. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go.
First order from this shop. The audiobook crowd will want the paper copy for the margins. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn. Good, with the caveats above.
Finished it over a stormy weekend, which helped. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little. Happy enough with the purchase.
Finished it over a stormy weekend, which helped. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. Five stars from me.
Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. A keeper.
