Rise

Mandy Collins-Moore presents Rise, a narrative that reimagines the boundary between digital fame and physical survival. The story centers on a group of men who are celebrated creators and streamers in their online lives but remain ordinary individuals in reality. Their weekend at a fan convention shifts from a social gathering into a harrowing trial of strength and character when a mystery illness and rising conflict across the states trigger a near-extinction event for humanity. As the dead rise, these unlikely heroes must adapt to lead a new breed of humanity. The text features recognizable figures from the gaming community, including Games4Kickz, Starsnipe, Kage848, Capp00, and GrayGhostZoro, alongside emerging talent. This second edition offers a revised look at the work that established the Rise Universe. Collins-Moore draws on the tradition of apocalyptic fiction and the modern culture of internet streaming to explore how ordinary people respond when their digital personas are stripped away by catastrophe. Readers who enjoy stories about the intersection of gaming culture and survival horror will find this narrative compelling. Those seeking traditional gothic atmospheres or historical supernatural tales may find the setting less appealing. The book suits fans of character-driven disaster fiction who appreciate seeing well-known online personalities face real-world consequences. It does not cater to readers looking for purely academic analyses of media trends.
