Meat Puppets: A Novel of Fragments

Lee Glenwright writes Meat Puppets: A Novel of Fragments, drawing on the bleak traditions of nihilistic fiction. The narrative centers on Frank Popper, a character who views most people as disposable commodities akin to meat. This perspective defines his outlook on life and death, joy and misery within the city. He knows the secrets that others ignore. With alcohol and cigarettes nearby, he shares these stories from Dark Corner Press. The book is organized as a collection of fragments rather than a linear plot. It draws on the author’s previous works, Mutt and Insatiable, to establish his voice. The text does not offer redemption or hope. It presents a raw look at human existence through Popper’s cynical lens. Readers seeking comfort will find nothing here. Those interested in dark, unflinching examinations of urban decay may appreciate this approach. Glenwright qualifies as a writer of supernatural and gothic fiction for Horror Reads customers. The novel fits into the broader category of horror and gothic literature. It uses the city as its primary setting. The stories cover the mundane horrors of daily life. The structure reflects the disjointed nature of Popper’s worldview. This is not a book for light reading. It demands attention to its stark details.
