Infestation Chicago: A Zombie Survival Series

This entry effectively maintains the momentum of the series by transporting David to Chicago, leveraging the city’s iconic landscape to amplify the sense of dread. The introduction of The Corporal adds a layer of personal antagonism that contrasts with the faceless threat of the undead, creating a more focused narrative tension. Smith succeeds in depicting the erosion of hope, making the stakes feel immediate and personal for the reader. The pacing likely suits those who prefer character-centric horror over pure gore. By integrating new allies and enemies, the story avoids stagnation. It is best suited for dedicated fans of the series or newcomers to the urban survival subgenre who appreciate a steady progression of threats and the psychological weight of long-term isolation in a collapsing world.
