A friend from my book club recommended it. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there. My only regret is not ordering it sooner.
Been meaning to get this one for a while. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. It leans on old gothic bones and makes them creak convincingly. Would buy from this store again.
Been meaning to get this one for a while. Some chapters are hard to read in the best possible way. Five stars from me.
Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. It is the kind of horror that rewards reading with the lights on.
Needed a good scare and got one. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Still worth having on the shelf.
