Took a chance on it after reading the description here. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not.
Finished it over a stormy weekend, which helped. The monster is scarier for how little you see of it. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. If you like this kind of cooking, don't hesitate.
Grabbed it for a long flight. Slow burn, but the burn is the point. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. Would buy from this store again.
Took a chance on it after reading the description here. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.
Added this to the shelf next to the ones I reread. Some chapters are hard to read in the best possible way. The audiobook crowd will want the paper copy for the margins. Great value for what you get.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. Happy enough with the purchase.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. Highly recommend.
