Dreams of Darkness, Dreams of Night: 20th Anniversary Edition

Dreams of Darkness, Dreams of Night is a raw, haunting collection of poetry and short fiction that cuts deep into the human condition. First published in 2005, this 20th Anniversary Edition brings together the complete works of the late Terry D. Scheerer, including over 20 poems and 7 stories that confront grief, depression, isolation, mortality, and memory. From surreal horror rooted in Lovecraftian dread to deeply personal reflections on loss and despair, Scheerer's writing blends gothic fiction with emotional authenticity. Each piece serves as a confessional-sometimes angry, sometimes weary, always honest. This edition includes fan favorites like "To Dance with the Dead," "Between the Moon and Mars," "The Very Idea," and "Band of Gold," alongside powerful poems such as "Falling," "Spirit Dog," and "Darkness Falls." With a new foreword by David K. Montoya and restored front matter, this volume honors the life and voice of one of indie horror's most introspective writers. If you've ever faced darkness and lived to write about it, this book is for you.
