📖 Why choose it
Why this book is worth reading
Readers who appreciate supernatural fiction intertwined with deep psychological exploration will find significant value here. The narrative offers a compelling examination of lifelong friendship tested by external horrors, using the Maine woods as a backdrop for confronting both alien danger and mental trauma. It appeals to those interested in stories where childhood bonds provide the key to surviving terrifying realities. However, it may not suit readers seeking pure action without psychological depth or those uncomfortable with themes of alien invasion.

Added this to the shelf next to the ones I reread. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. Shipping was quick too.
Not my usual subgenre but wanted to branch out. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there.
First order from this shop. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. The cover feels thinner than expected.
Was skeptical at first. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. Well worth it.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. One of my better finds this year.
Wanted something for October and it delivered. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little. Solid, if not essential.
