📖 Why choose it
Why this book is worth reading
This title is specifically designed for readers who have already engaged with the preceding installments of Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty cycle and wish to deepen their understanding of the established world. It offers a continuation of the intricate power structures and psychological exploration initiated in earlier volumes, focusing on the protagonist Roquelaure’s evolving relationship with her captors. Readers seeking detailed descriptive prose that examines the nuances of prolonged submission and supernatural influence will find value here. However, it is not intended for those new to the series or unfamiliar with Rice's controversial style. It serves as a necessary step for devotees of gothic erotica who demand prior knowledge of the narrative's rules and character dynamics to fully appreciate the gradual revelations and sustained tension that define this entry in the saga.
⭐ Reader reviews
Reader rating
Arrived quickly and well packaged. The prose is clean and the scares land because the characters feel real. Some chapters are hard to read in the best possible way. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little. Good, with the caveats above.
First order from this shop. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with.
