Oliver delivers a tight, suspenseful narrative that leverages the classic horror element of unwanted attention from mysterious figures. The premise of college students seeking trouble at an antique market provides a relatable setup for sudden terror. While the scope is limited by its short story format, the tension is maintained effectively through the interaction with the enigmatic vendor. The book suits readers who prefer quick, punchy horror over slow-burn psychological dread. It captures the essence of cosmic and gothic horror by introducing an inexplicable threat that disrupts normalcy. Fans of dark fantasy will appreciate the immediate stakes and the eerie atmosphere surrounding the antique stand.
