Arrived quickly and well packaged. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. It assumes some familiarity with the genre's tropes.
Not my usual subgenre but wanted to branch out. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks.
Wanted something for October and it delivered. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little. Happy enough with the purchase.
Wanted something for October and it delivered. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. Solid, if not essential.
Finished it over a stormy weekend, which helped. The monster is scarier for how little you see of it. Great value for what you get.
Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. Some chapters are hard to read in the best possible way. Glad I finally picked this up.
