Been meaning to get this one for a while. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. If you like this kind of cooking, don't hesitate.
A friend from my book club recommended it. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one.
Not my usual subgenre but wanted to branch out. The audiobook crowd will want the paper copy for the margins. Still worth having on the shelf.
This has been on my wishlist for months. The binding held up to being carried around for a week. Five stars from me.
Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. Some chapters are hard to read in the best possible way. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. Still worth having on the shelf.
Added this to the shelf next to the ones I reread. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little. Solid, if not essential.
I read a lot of horror and I'm picky. The binding held up to being carried around for a week. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.
