Read it in one night

First order from this shop. The binding held up to being carried around for a week. Slow burn, but the burn is the point. A keeper.

Mixed feelings

Was skeptical at first. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there. The font runs small in this edition. Recommended with reservations.

Been meaning to get this one for a while. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little. Solid, if not essential.

Not for the squeamish

Finished it over a stormy weekend, which helped. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. Gorier than the description lets on, if that matters to you. Solid, if not essential.

Finished it over a stormy weekend, which helped. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. Good, with the caveats above.

Finished it over a stormy weekend, which helped. Slow burn, but the burn is the point. The prose is clean and the scares land because the characters feel real. Highly recommend.
