S. service men see during the first gulf war while in the deep desert of Arabia that was NOT man made? Does hazing happen at Area 51? And gunfighter Porter Rockwell tangles with supernatural surprises throughout the Old West."With these tales of many lands and many peoples, David J. West combines an excellent prose style with a brilliant imagination to give us a solid collection of wonderful stories. This is a refreshingly original gathering of weird fiction." --W. H. Pugmire"David J. West, author of 'Heroes of the Fallen', is a strong voice in the field of Sword & Sorcery. This anthology delivers a robust assortment of weird horror, catering specifically to fans of classic pulps and sword-and-sorcery hybrids. West’s ability to weave historical figures into supernatural narratives offers a refreshing twist on traditional ghost stories. However, the scope is undeniably broad, which may alienate readers preferring tightly focused, singular-theme collections or those who dislike eclectic mixes of genres. Those expecting deep psychological horror or purely cosmic dread might find the inclusion of Western folklore and Cold War elements disjointed. It is best suited for collectors of weird fiction who value variety and imaginative premise over cohesive narrative arcs.
