⭐ Reader reviews

I read a lot of horror and I'm picky. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. My only regret is not ordering it sooner.
Finally got around to ordering this. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.
Took a chance on it after reading the description here. The monster is scarier for how little you see of it. A keeper.
Wanted something for October and it delivered. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight.
❓ Frequently asked questions
📖 Who should read this
Seekers of psychological unease and gothic isolation will thrive in this labyrinthine first-person narrative. However, if you prefer light-hearted romance, clear-cut adventure, or straightforward plot resolutions, this dense exploration of dark neurosis and perverse seclusion will likely frustrate rather than fascinate your sensibilities.
