Finally got around to ordering this. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there. Slow burn, but the burn is the point. Belongs in any working kitchen.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. The prose is clean and the scares land because the characters feel real. Would buy from this store again.
Not my usual subgenre but wanted to branch out. The audiobook crowd will want the paper copy for the margins. Some chapters are hard to read in the best possible way.
