Legare Street Press offers a direct reproduction of Shirley Jackson’s The Book of Revelation, framing it strictly as a public domain artifact for cultural preservation. It does not suit individuals seeking new, copyrighted material, modern interpretations, or engaging narrative marketing. Readers looking for plot summaries, character analyses, or contemporary editorial insights will find this volume lacking in those departments. The text is presented unadorned, focusing on preservation rather than enhancement. While valuable for maintaining literary history, it lacks the scholarly apparatus or fresh perspective that might appeal to general horror enthusiasts. It is a resource for continuity, not discovery.

Took a chance on it after reading the description here. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.

Good addition to the shelf

Been meaning to get this one for a while. It leans on old gothic bones and makes them creak convincingly. Some chapters are hard to read in the best possible way. It assumes some familiarity with the genre's tropes. Solid, if not essential.

A new favorite

Not my usual subgenre but wanted to branch out. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. Five stars from me.
