Sometime After Midnight: A Collection of Poetry & Short Stories

River J Hopkins presents Sometime After Midnight: A Collection of Poetry & Short Stories, a volume that leans heavily into the darker corners of fiction. By focusing on horror as its primary subject, the book offers readers a space to explore fear through varied literary forms. The inclusion of poetry alongside short stories suggests a rhythmic approach to dread, where tension builds not just through narrative action but also through lyrical intensity. Readers drawn to gothic and supernatural themes will find this collection aligns with their appetite for atmospheric unease. It does not rely on complex plots or character arcs but instead immerses the audience in a mood of lingering anxiety. The format allows for quick, sharp bursts of terror followed by moments of poetic reflection, creating a disorienting yet engaging experience for those who enjoy horror that lingers in the mind long after reading.
