Added this to the shelf next to the ones I reread. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. Great value for what you get.
Been meaning to get this one for a while. It leans on old gothic bones and makes them creak convincingly. The cover feels thinner than expected. Happy enough with the purchase.
I read a lot of horror and I'm picky. The audiobook crowd will want the paper copy for the margins. The prose is clean and the scares land because the characters feel real. Would buy from this store again.
This has been on my wishlist for months. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. It is the kind of horror that rewards reading with the lights on. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn. Happy enough with the purchase.
Added this to the shelf next to the ones I reread. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. Definitely recommend.
Not my usual subgenre but wanted to branch out. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. Well worth it.
