Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. Five stars from me.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there. The cover feels thinner than expected. Happy enough with the purchase.
Been meaning to get this one for a while. It is the kind of horror that rewards reading with the lights on. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. The font runs small in this edition. Solid, if not essential.
A friend from my book club recommended it. The monster is scarier for how little you see of it. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little.
Grabbed it for a long flight. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. The audiobook crowd will want the paper copy for the margins. Definitely recommend.
I read a lot of horror and I'm picky. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Happy enough with the purchase.
