📝 Description: Prey for the Soulless

K R Lugo presents a dystopian narrative set in a society collapsed into chaos. The story centers on Marcus Powers, a figure of immense financial influence who orchestrates deadly combat games between prisoners for public entertainment. His ambition extends beyond wealth to political power, as he seeks the presidency to reshape the nation according to his own design. This vision of a world worshipping suffering is challenged by Father O'Bannion, an excommunicated priest leading a small group of devout followers. Armed with scripture and firearms, this congregation interprets current events through biblical prophecy, specifically the signs of broken seals. They commit themselves to stopping Powers before his new world order takes root. The novel draws on gothic and supernatural traditions, blending modern political thriller elements with apocalyptic religious imagery. It suits readers who enjoy dark, character-driven tales of resistance against totalitarian control. Those seeking lighthearted escapism or purely academic theological studies may find the tone too intense. Lugo constructs a plot where faith and violence collide in a desperate bid for salvation.
