"On a dark desert highway, in the middle of a raging thunderstorm, Jack Molina and Diane Williams work the graveyard shift at an out of the way diner called The Plateful. The restaurant didn't get a lot of traffic, not anymore, but there were still a few wild and wooly characters who would wander in throughout the night. As the hours pass, people of every variety arrive: to eat, to use the facilities, even to just grab a quick pack of smokes.
