📝 Description: Nightcry

Gregory M Thompson presents a contemporary horror narrative set in the Midwestern town of Ilton. The story follows Grant Sykes, who returns to his hometown to manage the local newspaper. His return coincides with a series of unexplained deaths that cast suspicion on him. Physical evidence accumulates against Grant, leading the local Police Chief to pursue traditional investigative theories rather than supernatural explanations. Grant suspects the killings are linked to the entity responsible for his parents' death years prior. To clarify the situation and prove his innocence, he enlists a ghosthunter to track a banshee. The novel blends small-town mystery with folklore elements, focusing on the tension between rational law enforcement and paranormal reality. It appeals to readers who enjoy grounded supernatural thrillers where the protagonist must navigate both legal and spectral threats simultaneously.
