Not my usual subgenre but wanted to branch out. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Still worth having on the shelf.
Needed a good scare and got one. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. If you like this kind of cooking, don't hesitate.
Was skeptical at first. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. The cover feels thinner than expected. Good, with the caveats above.
Needed a good scare and got one. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Shipping was quick too.
First order from this shop. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. The font runs small in this edition. Recommended with reservations.
