Consequently, judgment must rest on its placement among horror-fiction and dark fantasy peers. It suits readers who enjoy psychological unease and gothic undertones over visceral gore or straightforward ghost stories. However, it does not suit those seeking clear plots, historical grounding, or accessible prose; the mention of spanning a thousand years suggests fragmentation that may alienate casual readers. Without more concrete details on the Frankenstein tale or the specific nature of the cruelty, the book remains an abstract promise. It is best approached by connoisseurs of the genre who value mood and concept over character development or plot clarity.
